Why am I writing this?
Writing helps me think. If I have some idea, thought, or emotion, it’s much easier for me to understand and grapple with it when I write it down than otherwise. I started journaling last year, but I figured some of what I think might be helpful to share a bit more broadly.
I’m hoping some other people might find my opinions helpful to reflect on, but I’m not expecting that anything I’m saying here should be particularly profound to anyone. More than that though, writing to an audience beyond just me is a good forcing function for me to organize my thoughts more cleanly and to write with more rigor than I would otherwise. Ideally, people will engage and I’ll learn something new as well!
Why should you read this?
Honestly, this is pretty unclear at this point haha. Hopefully you’ll find something useful or maybe you’re just curious about what I’m getting up to and want to check in. Maybe you just enjoying reading the ramblings of a lunatic shouting into the void, who knows.
Why not just post on facebook?
I’m taking a bit of a hiatus from social media at the moment because of the increased political partisanship and the tension that causes me. I’ll probably be back soon, but I want a bit of a breather from feeling outrage and powerless. I’ll write a post about this at some point with some more fleshed out thoughts.
Why are you asking yourself questions? That’s weird
This is honestly just how I think. It’s so much easier for me to explain things in the context of questions/answers than just straight up information.
Why now?
I’m procrastinating from doing PSC (performance summary cycle) reviews. Classic
How can I contribute?
Ask questions, give feedback, let me know what else I should be talking about. I’m eager to learn/improve and I’m much more interested in improving the content than on reaching more people
